GNU Snowboard Bindings Recalled by Mervin Manufacturing Due to Fall Hazard

Hazard: The ankle straps can break posing a fall hazard.
Injuries: The firm has received 30 reports of the binding straps breaking. No injuries were reported.
Description: The recalled snowboard bindings include men’s, youth, and women’s sizes. The bindings attach to the snowboard with screws, and to the snowboard boot with straps with buckles. The brand name “GNU” is imprinted on the front of the straps or on the baseplate. The SKU number can be found on the model sticker located on the original packaging. Sold At: Specialty Sports Inc., REI and other national, small chain and independent sporting goods stores, and online at www.backcountry.com and www.mervin.com from August 2012 to March 2013 for between $125 and $310.
